2015 has not been a great year for creativity. A holiday in morocco was a wonderful experience but my intentions of producing colourful, atmospheric paintings were dashed by the cold in the Atlas mountains. Once down in the heat & bustle of Marrakech there were numerous opportunities to sketch (especially on my iPad) but I did not produce any finished works. However the information I gathered may lead to future works.
The art group which I facilitate is growing from strength to strength and now numbers about 15. I have included a few demonstration paintings in the gallery. The group has a wide level of experience and talent with many beginners. Interestingly we have three pairs of a parent and offspring – 2 pairs of mothers & daughters & one pair of father & son. We recently spent a windswept, sunny day sketching on Dungeness beach (with fish & chips in the Britannia of course!). There are some sketches in the gallery plus a studio-worked pastel.
I will be painting in Madeira this autumn. I am intending to produce some vibrant pastels with acrylic ink underpainting. We shall see!
